As Gaeilge
An bhfuil tú ag foghlaim na Gaeilge den chéad uair nó á foghlaim arís? B'fhéidir go bhfuil tú ag iarraidh a bheith ag éisteacht le níos mó Gaeilge i do shaol laethiúil. An bhfuil Gaeilge neamhfhoirmiúil uait? Nó an gceapann tú gur theanga álainn í an Ghaeilge cé nach bhfuil ach cúpla focal agat? Bhuel a chara, má tá tú ag éisteacht liomsa 's ag smaoineamh, "oh a Thiarcais, sin mise!", tá tú san áit cheart.
Dia duit agus fáilte go "Imperfect Irish", podchraoladh nua go huile is go hiomlán trí mheán na Gaeilge - seachas an teideal dár ndóigh! Is mise Sophie agus is mac léinn as Baile Átha Cliath mé. Tá fíorghrá agam do theangacha, go háirithe an Ghaeilge.
Is í aidhm an phodchraoladh seo ná an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn i mbealach suimiúil agus neamhfhoirmiúil. Bainfidh na heagráin le topaicí éagsúla - ó cheol agus cúrsaí reatha go spóirt agus stair, beidh rud éigin ann do gach duine.
Ach cén fáth gur phioc mé "Imperfect Irish" mar theideal? Bhuel, ní cainteoir dúchais mé, níor fhreastail mé ar Ghaelscoil ná ar Ghaelcholáiste, agus mar sin, déanfaidh mé botúin ar an mbealach gan dabht. Ach tá sé sin ceart go leor, mar caithfimid botúin a dhéanamh chun rudaí nua a fhoghlaim. Mar a deir an seanfhocal, 'is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste.'
Má tá comhráite réchúiseacha, eolas suimiúil nó Gaeilge neamhfhoirmiúil uait, tar liom ar an turas seo - is cinnte go mbeidh sé craiceáilte 's spraíúil agus b'fhéidir go bhfoghlaimeoimid píosa beag Gaeilge le chéile ar an tslí freisin.
Go raibh míle maith agat as a bheith ag éisteacht leis an tréiléir seo. Go dtí an chéad eagrán den phodchraoladh, fan slán, labhair Gaeilge agus lean ar aghaidh ag déanamh botúin!
As Béarla
Are you learning Irish for the first time or relearning it? Maybe you want to listen to more Irish in your daily life. Do you want access to informal Irish? Or do you think that Irish is a beautiful language even though you only have a couple of words of it? Well my friend, if you're listening to me and thinking "oh my God, that's me!", you're in the right place.
Hello and welcome to "Imperfect Irish", a new podcast completely through Irish - except for the title of course!
I'm Sophie and I'm a college student from Dublin. I have a real love for languages, especially Irish.
The aim of this podcast is to promote Irish in an interesting and informal way. The episodes will explore diverse topics - from music to current affairs and sports to history, there will be something for everyone.
But why did I pick "Imperfect Irish" as a title? Well, I'm not a native speaker, I didn't attend a Gaelscoil (an Irish language primary school) nor Gaelcholáiste (an Irish language secondary school) and due to this I am sure to make mistakes along the way. But that's okay as we need to make mistakes in order to learn new things. As the proverb says, 'broken Irish is better than clever English.'
If you're looking for relaxed conversations, interesting information or informal Irish, come with me on this journey - it is sure to be crazy and fun and maybe we'll learn a little bit of Irish together along the way.
Thank you for listening to this trailer. Until the first episode of the podcast, stay safe, speak Irish and continue to make mistakes!
